What is Huely? Huely is a daily color-perception game. Each round shows a grid of tiles that are all the same color — except one, which is a slightly different shade. Tap the odd one out. The grid grows and the shades get closer every level. A fresh, seeded daily challenge drops at midnight so everyone plays the exact same board. Track your streak, push your Color IQ, and unwind in untimed Zen mode.
Getting Started
- Open the app — today's daily challenge loads automatically on the home screen.
- Tap "Play Daily" to start the seeded board everyone gets today.
- Find the odd tile — one tile is a slightly different shade than the rest. Tap it to clear the level.
- Keep going — each level the grid grows and the colors converge, so it gets harder.
- Build your streak — finish a daily challenge each day to keep your streak alive and raise your Color IQ.
- Want endless play? Switch to Zen mode for untimed, unlimited rounds, or open the calendar to replay past days.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the daily challenge generated?
Each day's board is created from a fixed "seed" tied to the date, so the puzzle is generated identically for every player around the world. There's no server picking it — your device builds the same board everyone else's does. That's what makes comparing scores fair: you all played the exact same colors.
Why did my streak reset?
Your streak counts consecutive days on which you complete the daily challenge. It resets if you miss a full day. The day rolls over at local midnight, so be sure to finish today's board before the date changes on your device. Note: because all progress is stored locally, changing your device's date/time, switching to a new phone, or reinstalling the app can also affect your streak.
Is Huely free?
Yes — Huely is 100% free and supported by ads. There's no subscription and nothing to buy. Ads help keep the daily challenge free for everyone.
How do I turn on daily reminders?
Open Settings in the app and enable daily reminders, then pick a time that suits your routine. You'll get a gentle nudge so you don't break your streak. The first time you enable reminders, your device will ask permission to send notifications — tap Allow. You can change or turn off reminders anytime from Settings, or in your device's notification settings for Huely.
Is my data private?
Very. Huely has no account and no servers of our own — your streaks, scores, history, and settings live only on your device and are never sent to us. The only data leaving your device is what our ad provider (Google AdMob) collects to show ads. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
How do I delete my data?
Go to Settings → Delete My Data to permanently erase your local game data (streaks, scores, history, settings). Uninstalling the app also removes all local data. Want a copy first? Use Settings → Export My Data before deleting. Note: deletion is permanent and can't be undone.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Because the daily board is generated on your device from the date seed, you can play with no internet at all — on a plane, in a tunnel, anywhere. You'll just need a connection if you want ads to load; the game itself runs fully offline.
How do I share my score?
After you finish the daily challenge, tap the Share button on the results screen to send your day number, streak, and Color IQ to friends or social apps — no spoilers, just your result so others can compare on the same board.
What is "Color IQ"?
Color IQ is your overall score — a single number that reflects how sharp your eye is, based on how far you get and how tough the shades were. Chase a new personal best every day.
Troubleshooting
- Today's challenge isn't loading? Fully close and reopen the app. Check that your device's date and time are set automatically.
- Ads not appearing or stuck? Confirm you have an internet connection — ads need one even though the game doesn't. The game will keep working regardless.
- Streak looks wrong? Make sure your device clock is set to "automatic," and remember that reinstalling or switching devices resets locally stored progress.
- Reminders not arriving? Check that notifications are allowed for Huely in your device's system settings, and that a reminder time is set in the app.
- App crashing or behaving oddly? Restart your device and make sure you're on the latest version of Huely from the App Store or Google Play.
