This Privacy Policy explains how Huely ("Huely", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. Huely is operated by Stratega (owner: Chris Guida). Huely is a free, ad-supported color-perception game for iOS and Android.
The short version: Huely has no accounts and no servers of our own. Your game data — streaks, scores, history, and settings — is stored only on your device. The only third party that may receive data is our advertising provider, Google AdMob, which uses it to show ads. You can export or delete your local data anytime from inside the app.
1. Information We Collect
Game data (stored locally on your device only)
Huely saves the following on your device so the game works and remembers your progress:
- Your current and longest daily streak
- Your scores and best Color IQ
- Your play history (which past days you've completed, for the replay calendar)
- Your settings and preferences (e.g., reminder times, sound)
This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us. We do not operate any servers, databases, or backend that receive your game data. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, payment details, or any account credentials, because Huely has no accounts.
Advertising data (collected by our ad provider)
Huely shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and Google may collect and process certain information from your device, which can include device and mobile advertising identifiers, IP address, general device information (such as operating system and device type), approximate location derived from IP, and data about ad interactions. This processing is performed by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's policies.

2. How We Use Information
Because game data stays on your device, we use it only to run the game on that device — to display your streak, calculate and remember your scores, populate the replay calendar, and apply your settings. Advertising data is used by Google to deliver, personalize (where permitted), cap, and measure ads, and to detect fraud and abuse. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Advertising, Personalization & Your Choices
App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
On iOS, if Huely or our ad provider wishes to use the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies, Apple requires your permission first. You'll see Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt and can choose Allow or Ask App Not to Track. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will be less personalized. You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iOS device.
EU/UK consent (Google UMP / GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Huely uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent mechanism to ask for your consent for personalized advertising and the use of cookies/identifiers, as required by GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. Your consent choices are passed to Google and our ad provider. You can review or change your consent choices at any time from the app's settings/privacy options.
Android ad personalization
On Android you can opt out of ad personalization or reset your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads on your device.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not share your game data with anyone, because it never leaves your device and we never receive it. The only data sharing that occurs is between your device and Google AdMob for the purpose of serving ads, as described above. We may disclose information only if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Stratega, our users, or the public — but in practice we hold no personal data to disclose.
5. Data Storage, Security & Retention
Your game data is stored locally on your device using your device's standard app storage and is retained until you delete it (via the in-app Delete My Data option) or uninstall the app. Because we hold no copy of your data on any server, deleting it from your device or uninstalling Huely permanently removes it. We take reasonable measures to keep the app secure, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure.
6. Your Rights & Controls
Huely gives you direct control over your data without needing to contact us:
- Export My Data — export a copy of your local game data from within the app.
- Delete My Data — permanently erase your local game data (streaks, scores, history, settings) from within the app. Uninstalling the app also removes all local data.
- Ad controls — adjust tracking/consent as described in Section 3.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Since we do not collect or hold your personal data ourselves, most of these rights can be exercised directly on your device. 7. Children's Privacy
Huely is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is designed to be age-appropriate, and ad content is configured for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided personal information through advertising features, please contact us so we can address it.
8. International Users
Huely is available in multiple regions. While we do not transfer your game data anywhere (it stays on your device), Google may process advertising data in countries other than your own in accordance with its own privacy practices and safeguards.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated within the app. Continued use of Huely after an update means you accept the revised policy.
